Make Room For All You Need

These doors are a reminder that my feelings  and needs matter.  I need a space, a place, time to be with them, experience them.

Anger is as valuable as dreaming, as valuable as making mistakes, as valuable as not knowing.  Being with them shows me what they have to offer me.  They each serve me in some way.

I can't always be 'perfect' and 'certain' and 'happy'.  For me, being a functional, resourceful, creative human being means accepting, respecting, making room for all parts of me.

These doors are part of larger installation of 15 doors that I photographed and photoshopped so I could put it in this context.  Click on image to see larger size.

Just A Moment

All the moments of my life have value, they matter.  I am formed by them in some way. By the choices I make in response to them, what I learn from them. No one better or worse, just different. This drawing is my way of appreciating my life and remembering the moments that have touched me, opened me, closed me, twisted me, saved me, surprised me, grown me.

Red Tulip

I love the way tulips bend and open and fall apart. I love their insides and their color and their shape. I love that they remind me of the beauty and fragility of my own life.

What's Happening Now

I love working in powerpoint. It's a simple way for me to animate text and make it move in a way that matches how the idea feels in my body and mind.  This presentation shows me how challenging it is for me to stay present, stay here, stay in this moment ...I can so easily be distracted by other than what's happening now.
